Identity Of Dollar-bribe Demanding Nigerian Policeman Revealed, To Face Disciplinary Action

                   
The report about a Nigerian policeman who was caught on video demanding American dollars after apprehending a Nigerian-American and two other Nigerians for alleged traffic offence(s) has been arrested and currently in Police custody according to the Nigerian police headquarters.

The police officer, Corporal Aniyem Chiyem with police number F/No 374171, is attached to the Isheri Division, Lagos State. T3he police authorities have commenced disciplinary action against him.



Mr. Chiyem was videotaped while demanding bribe in dollars from a US-based Nigerian traveling in Lagos. The three-minute, 45-second footage secretly filmed by one of the passengers detailing the encounter of the trio, in the hands of the policeman, has become a sensation on YouTube and other social networking sites.

One of the three, who later spoke in Yoruba, was heard explaining to the policeman that one of them was actually celebrating his birthday and that they were hurrying to catch up with a friend. The incident, according to the description given on YouTube, was said to have happened in the Egbeda area of Lagos.

It brings to five the number of policemen and women who have been caught on video demanding bribes from motorists.
What a shame.
