POLITICAL SOMETHING!!! Presidency Places Atiku, Baraje, Other PDP Rebel Leaders Under Security Watch

The Presidency has ordered a meticulous security surveillance on leaders of the rebellious Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) group led by Abubakar Baraje and Atiku Abubakar, to ensure that they will cause any breakdown in law and order as a result of their activities.

The PDP rebels led by Mr. Baraje, as their chairman, backed by seven governors, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and some federal lawmakers intentionally nearly disrupted the PDP National convention held in Abuja. These provocative actions and a possible resultant violence is what the security will ensure that it must be avoided by close monitoring and prompt action.

This is a repetition of history in PDP, as on the 9th of June, 2006, a group led by the party’s founding chairman, Solomon Lar, and a former Deputy National Chairman, Shuaib Oyedokun, had broken away to form a parallel faction after accusing the then Ahmadu Ali-led leadership of sidelining many leading founding members.
At the end this group exit did not affect PDP performing better in the national polls, months later .

In 2007, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar left PDP with some Governors to form ACN with Tinubu. He was roundly beaten in the Polls by PDP and he crawled back in 2010 to be re-admitted back.

Over the weekend, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, again led a group of disgruntled state governors to form what he branded as a faction PDP, not minding its illegality, this only exposes the greed and selfishness of these politicians, especially those branding themselves as progressives and standing for the much needed Change.
