16-year-old secondary school girl crushed to death at Ilorin

Accident1
On Thursday a 16-year-old girl, Moridiyat Abdullateef, was crushed to death by a truck with number plate XB 482 BDU, alleged to have been on top speed. The Senior Secondary One student of Government Girls Day Secondary School, Oke Suna, Ilorin, had gone to fetch water across the road for her grandfather in the morning before setting out for school and in her attempt to cross to the other side of the road at Taiwo Isale junction, she was hit by the driver, who was allegedly drunk, and had lost control of the vehicle.
It was learnt that the truck crushed the girl and all efforts by residents and Good Samaritans to save her life turned out futile as she died almost instantly.
The truck driver was said to have escaped while the truck was destroyed just in front of the deceased’s residence- a one-storey building beside
Asa river.

The father of the girl, Mr. Abdullateef Mohammed, a teacher, had in tears said he had taken the unfortunate incident as an act of God. Very Sad.
