The Kaduna state government
said it would commence the recruitment of 7,000 youths this month for the
second phase of the Subsidy Re-investment Programme (SURE-P).
The Executive Secretary of the state
Industrialisation Micro-Credit Management Board and also the Manager, Transport
of the SURE-P, Mr Elisha Masha told jounalists that 2,300 of them would be
engaged in agriculture.
He also said that another 2,300 would undergo
vocational training in various skills, while 1,150 women would be empowered to
earn a living.
Masha said others would be engaged in the graduate
internship programme, where the participants would be attached to companies for
a one year programme and those who perform well would be absorbed by the
companies.
