Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Advisor

Job DetailsThe Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Advisor will take the lead in strategic planning, coordination and monitoring and evaluation of programme activities related to strengthening of MNCH service provision; Draft Terms of Reference for national and international consultants providing short term technical assistance to the programme in the area of Maternal, Newborn and Child Health; Write quarterly progress reports about the MNCH component of the programme. Provide mentoring and capacity-building for programme teams at state level and for implementing partners in relation to MNCH; Identify ways to
collaborate and coordinate with Programme Advisers in the areas of Community Engagement, Community-Based Service Delivery and Health System Strengthening to address issues of common interest and coordinate actvities.

Qualification:
A Post-graduate qualification in public health, maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH), or a closely related field; At least 5 years of relevant clinical experience in obstetrics & gynaecology and participation in public health programmes in Nigeria, especially in Maternal and Neonatal and Child Health(MNCH); In-depth knowledge and understanding of current evidence-based obstetric care and internationally agreed global strategies and interventions for the reduction of matemal mortality and how to operationalize; Experience in quality assurance of MNCH services and in conducting Maternal Death Reviews (Audit) and Criterion Based Audit will be of added value; Experience of working in Northern Nigeria will be of added value; Experience in working with NGOs, CSOs, FBOs will be of added value.
Neo-natal and Child Health Specialist

Job Details
The Neonatal and Child Health Specialist will provide technical support, advice and coordination to the programme in the states. S/he will lead technical efforts related to neonatal and child health. Support the MNCH Programme Officers in the states and state teams in capacity building and systems strengthening for IMCI, iCCM, ENC, and KMC in PHC facilities and the communities. The Neonatal and Child Health Specialist will ensure that international & national best practices and knowledge are brought into the programme.

Qualifications:
A Post-graduate qualification in Public Health or Paediatrics, or a closely related field; A Public Health degree will be an added advantage; At least 7 years of relevant experience in Medicine or Nursing/Midwifery and participation in public health programmes in Nigeria, particularly in Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH); Proven knowledge of current evidence based effective care in newborn & child health; iCCM.IMCI. CBSD, ENC, KMC ; experience of working with non-governmental organisations or multilateral & bilateral organizations. The successful candidate should have excellent Technical & Advisory Support as well as Programme Management skills: good experience in Planning & budgeting is inclusive.
State Team Manager

Job Details
The State Team Manager will be a member of the programme Senior Management Team. S/he takes overall responsibility for the management and coordination of the programme implementation activities within the state. Slhe will provide leadership for the Programme at state level and working in close collaboration with state counterparts, jointly facilitate planning and implementation of all programme technical activities; Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with officials in the State Ministries of Health and Local Govemment Authority; other key individuals in the government and other ministries relevant to the project: representatives of other aid and UN agencies, the private sector and civil society groups; Ensure that the state programme staff have clearly defined objectives, roles, and responsibilities; Ensure the provision of high quality technical assistanceand capacity building to the state programme and staff by managing all internal and external technical assistance. including application ofthe TAprotocols and tools.

Qualifications:
A Post-graduate qualification in public health, primary health care, health management. social development. or a closely related field; At least 10 years professional working experience; Functional capacity to analyse information, evaluate options, and think and plan in an effective, strategic manner; Good understanding of complementary roles and values of public sector, not for profit and profit making private sector; Computer literate and ability to work in a team.
National Advocacy Adviser

Job Details
The National Advocacy Adviser will provide leadership and support for ail elements of the advocacy work in the programme across the various outputs and initiatives, engage in strategy development and ensure relevant evidence from the programme and other sources are strategically packaged and presented to government and communities to inform policy and decision making. The job holder will empower communities and non-state actors, to advocate with government and ensure quality health care is available for mothers and children.

Qualifications:
A Post-graduate qualification in public health, Social Policy or any other related field. The incumbent should have at least 7 years professional working experience in health/social services delivery with a focus on governance ano enhanced voice and accountability; proven skills in policy analysis and high level engagement with policy makers. The successful candidate must have a profound knowledge of Nigeria political and policy landscape. Ability to speak Hausa language is essential.
