A teenager in Norway fell
into a coma after consuming 4 litres of energy drinks so that he could stay
active to play video games.
Henrik Eide Dahl was at a
video game party and was participating in a 16-hour marathon when he collapsed
and had to be hospitalized. Dahl is said to have passed
out from kidney failure and at some point had to be put on a respirator and a
drip.
The young boy is still in
hospital but he is expected to make a full recovery, and hopefully stay away
from energy drinks.
He said:
‘It has been very scary, and I
have learned that it is not good to drink that much energy drink,’ ‘But
it’s getting better and better every day. I’m starting to feel normal now.’
The teen is said to have
spent a total of 13 days in the hospital and medical staff have said that he
could have died as his central nervous system, cardiovascular system, lungs and
kidneys were affected.
