John Snow Incorporated (JSI) is implementing the USAID/DELIVER PROJECT, a technical assistance project funded by USAID and aimed at increasing the availability of essential health supplies through procurement services and strengtheningsupply chains in developing countries. In addition to the PH program areas, the USAID I DELIVER PROJECT also works in Malaria and Avian Influenza and the selected candidate may be tasked with supporting these areas of work when necessary. JSI also implements the Supply Chain Management System(SCMS) contract for the US Government as part of the US President's Emergency Plan for Aids Relief.
JSI is seeking to employ a Senior Logistics Advisor, Logistics Advisor and two
DDIC State Coordinators. In addition to the Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and
Child Health (RMNCH), TB and otherEssential Medicines program areas, the

The Senior Logistics Advisor PH will be responsible for managing JSI's day-to-day PH program commodities logistics technical assistance activities, in collaboration with FHD and project logistics officers based in the selected states in which the project works, stakeholders and partners for federal and State governments as well as other multilateral, bilateral and NGO stakeholders. The Senior Logistics Advisor, PH will report to the Director,Public Health.
Specific Tasks include:
1. Maintain a work plan for USAID/DELIVER PROJECT Public HealthCommodities Logistics system strengthening activities in collaboration with JSI staff and partners
2. Support the establishment and routine meetings of procurement and supply management coordination working groups and committees for PH commodities
3. Provide technical leadership and support for annual national/state quantification and procurement planning of PH commodities, in collaboration with all program stakeholders and partners
4. Monitor and provide supportive supervision to the national logistics officers and state level teams as appropriate
5. Collaborate with other JSI project personnel in harmonization efforts for the logistics systems in the health sector in order to establish a harmonized commodity logistics system including logistics management information system (lMIS) for use in managing all different commodity groups
8. Work closely with JSI Nigeria management on managing relationships and maintaining routine communications with USAID, UNFPA, SFH, NTBlCp, TB-CAP, WHO, and all other DELIVER stakeholders
9. Help write routine quarterly and annual reports for submission to program funders
10. Contribute to identifying best practices and success stories for JSI Nigeria's periodic logistics bulletin

The State Coordinator will provide guidance and management support forthe Direct Delivery and Information capture (DblC) for distribution of health commodities in Sokoto/Zamfara state. The successful candidates will be based in Sokoto and Gusau respectively and will report to the DDICNational Coordinator in the Abuja office.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide overall technical guidance and support for DDIC activities in the state.
2. Provide technical support to state medicines management agency and state programs coordinators to ensure availability (full supply where possible) of ODIC commodities in the state.
3. Carry out ODIC system delivery teams' training and workshops.
4. Prepare periodic progress reports on DDIC implementation activities in the state.
5. Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with the state Ministry of Health, State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs State programs, Partners and relevant agencies at state level.
6. Act as the Secretary for the DDICTWG meetings.
7. Work closely with State Central Medical Stores (CMS) and team leaders to schedule pilot DDIC deliveries to the SOPs.
8. Prepare and circulate delivery schedules to program managers, the state CMS pharmacist and the team leader.
9. Review and approve Letters of Request from Team Leaders at the beginning of a delivery run.
