GB JOBS: Vacancies In A Mortgage Banking Institution

A primary Mortgage Banking Institution owned by the Kogi State Government and the Local Governments in the State is in the process of hiring competent, well-qualified and multi-talented candidates that will constitute part of the Bank’s leadership.
It is expected that the professional candidates that will emerge successful in the hiring exercise will re-engineer and take the institution to its next level of organizational growth and development.



In accordance with this establishment recruitment objectives, applications are being sought for the following positions from candidates that have the necessary pro-requisites and/or meet criteria indicated herein:

Job Title: Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer
The Role
This role reports to the Board of Directors of the Bank and steers the day-to-day affairs of the institution. The occupant of the position ensures the profitability and continuous existence of the PMI. He galvanizes the entire workforce both at the managerial and non-managerial levels towards the implementation of the Policies of the Board of Directors.

Specific Responsibilities 
·                     Ensure that the Bank is run in absolute conformity with the rules and regulations of the Regulatory Authorities as may be prescribed from time-to-time during his tenure,
·                     Fine-tune the existing processes and work culture of the Bank,
·                     Enhance the Brand image and visibility of the Bank in the banking industry,
·                     Manage, motivate and train the employees of the PMI so as to ensure that individual career and institutional profitability objectives are achieved,
·                     Liaise with other major players in the mortgage bankingenvironment so as to exchange Ideas on current/burning mortgage banking industry issues
·                     Develop Partnerships and Alliances that will have strategic benefits
·                     Develop new products, Innovative services and institutional orientation that will bring about sustained customer satisfaction.
·                     Ensure the application of a robust risk management framework that will enhance the continuity of the Bank as a corporate entity.
·                     Develop a wide and rich clientele that will enhance the transactions, base of the PMI,
·                     Develop and execute a formidable Marketing Plan that will lead to the emergence of the Bank as a major force within the mortgage sector of the Nigerian banking industry.
Professional/Personal Requirements
Candidates applying for the position of Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer must possess the following
 academic qualifications and personal attributes:
·                     A grade 1 (One) West African School Certificate
·                     A First degree in any of the numerate disciplines, for example, Economics, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, etc.
·                     Must have in-depth competence and experience in dealing and/or liaising with the Nigerian banking Industry Regulatory Authorities
·                     Adequate knowledge of the laws and statues governing the Nigerian banking industry.
·                     Must be a team player with the capacity to lead teams and have an active-listening orientation
·                     Possession of Self-confidence commensurate the position.
·                     Possession of an MBA from a renowned Nigerian or foreign University.
·                     Citizenship of Kogi State is desirable
·                     15 years experience in the banking Industry and in a top-management position is a must.
·                     A good track record of transaction origination, market analysis and overall business acumen.
Job Title: Company Secretary & Legal Adviser
Location:
 Kogi State
The Role
This role reports to the Board of Directors with a dotted line reporting relationship with the Managing Director. He/She is the Chief Legal Officer of the Bank and is expected to be the reservoir of knowledge In
 connectionwith the laws and statues governing the Nigerian banking industry.
Responsibilities 
·                     Attend all the meetings of the Board of Directors and prepare the minutes covering the deliberations at such meetings.
·                     Propagate Search efforts and compile Search Reports on borrowing and new customers of the Bank.
·                     Hold in appropriate and adequate custody, documents relating to the exposures of the PMI to its numerous customers, for examples, collaterals, guarantees and Indemnities
·                     Prepare/Vet Contractual Agreements with third parties and ensure that the Interest of the Bank is adequately protected at all times.
·                     Cover the legal aspects of the functions of the PMI’s subsidiary is well protected.
·                     Attend all the meetings of the Board Committees and prepare the minutes covering the deliberations at such Board Committee meetings.
·                     Maintain appropriate, correct and authentic minutes books of the PMI for the purposes of regulatory inspection and review.
·                     Maintain appropriate Attendance Registers for the Board of Directors and
·                     Board Committee members.
·                     Perform some administrative and personnel duties that may be part of the work portfolio of this position.
Professional/Personal Requirements
·                     Possession of a law degree, LL Band BL is a necessity
·                     5 years experience in the Legal department of a bank
·                     Competence in maintaining Register of Members and/or effective liaison with the Registrars
·                     Ability and/or personal orientation to work with peers and subordinates without being either augmentative or punitive
·                     Strong track record of accurate record keeping without divulging official matters to third-parties.
·                     In-depth knowledge of the laws relating to both the mortgage and banking industry in general
·                     Adequate experience in liaising and dealing with the Corporate Affairs Commission
·                     Good standing in matters relating to Corporate Governance and Principles
·                     In-depth knowledge of the Companies and Allied Matters Act
·                     Good measure of experience in conducting and directing affairs at Annual
·                     General Meetings
