Ipas Nigeria is an international NGO dedicated to improving women’s
reproductive health and rights, with a specific focus on reducing
maternal mortality and morbidity from unsafe abortion. The Nigeria program has programs in eight states to
build the capacity of public and private health systems to expand
quality woman-centered reproductive health services.
Location: - Abuja
The Country
Director is the chief executive for the Ipas Nigeria program and is responsible
for providing strategic direction and managerial oversight for the country
team. This includes donor proposals and reports, forecasting and managing
budgets and workplans and leading the team to ensure results. He/she is
responsible for donor relationships, strategic planning, policy, advocacy
and external relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
•Provide leadership
and strategic direction in planning of country strategies and program objectives
to set direction for the Ipas Nigeria country program.
•Responsible to plan and manage the country program, ensure program results are achieved consistent with organizational priorities, donor requirements and budget parameters
•Provides guidance and supervision to the management team working closely with the Program Manager, and encourages strong teamwork, positive communications and a supportive team culture to meet overall country objectives.
•Represents Ipas with donors and provides leadership in donor proposals and reports.
•Represents Ipas with policy makers and stakeholders and advocates for policies and programs that maximizes impact and resources to further the mission of Ipas.
•Leads the Country Results Team and Management and Accountability Group (MAG) meetings.
•Responsible to plan and manage the country program, ensure program results are achieved consistent with organizational priorities, donor requirements and budget parameters
•Provides guidance and supervision to the management team working closely with the Program Manager, and encourages strong teamwork, positive communications and a supportive team culture to meet overall country objectives.
•Represents Ipas with donors and provides leadership in donor proposals and reports.
•Represents Ipas with policy makers and stakeholders and advocates for policies and programs that maximizes impact and resources to further the mission of Ipas.

Minimum requirements:
•Advanced degree in
relevant field required
•10-15 years’ related experience required
•At least 5 or more years of supervisory and HR experience required
•Must be familiar with women’s sexual and reproductive rights and a strong advocate for Ipas mission
•Proven experience with donor relations and in writing proposals and donor reports
•Must be able to work independently with a strong teamwork focus
•Cross cultural experience and international NGO work experience
•Ability to travel up to 50% time within Nigeria
•10-15 years’ related experience required
•At least 5 or more years of supervisory and HR experience required
•Must be familiar with women’s sexual and reproductive rights and a strong advocate for Ipas mission
•Proven experience with donor relations and in writing proposals and donor reports
•Must be able to work independently with a strong teamwork focus
•Cross cultural experience and international NGO work experience
•Ability to travel up to 50% time within Nigeria
