In recent times, the world has begun to embrace the idea of
equal rights for same sex couples and other gender minorities. However in
Nigeria, the opposite is the case.
An institute in Enugu is set to embark on a 2 day March to
protest against what it terms as “societal vices.”
The International Bio-Research Institute based in Enugu is to
hold a 2-day international seminar and street march and the programme will
focus on issues such as kidnapping, same-sex marriage, child and mother
trafficking, mercy killing, among others.
Reports say the event, which holds August 29
and 30, 2013, will take place at the Odumegwu Ojukwu Auditorium of the
Institute, at Ugwuogo-Nike, Enugu state.
The event, with the theme “Family and the Beginning of Life
Issues in Africa” is being organised by the Institute in collaboration with
Steadfast Onlus Foundation, Italy.
The climax of the event will be a street march on the 30th of
August, 2013.
