The New
Initiative for the Enhancement of Life and Health (NELAH) is a non-governmental
organization with its headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State. NELAH partners with
international
donors to implement HIV prevention activities and also care and support to OVC.
NELAH
wishes to invite suitably qualified candidates to fill the below stated vacant
positions currently existing in its establishment.
1. PROGRAM
DIRECTOR
(100
percent of time) Ibadan
The
incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all programming, including
ensuring the technical quality of services.
The Project
Director will work with partners to decide on targets, oversee the development
and execution of community action plans and family case plans; monitor the
implementation of plans, work with the Executive Director to facilitate
operational capacity building initiatives; directly facilitate technical
capacity building; and support efforts to coordinate with local government and
private sector partners.
S/he also
supports the roll out of and state-level national initiatives intended to
improve the technical quality of programming for children affected by HIV/AIDS.
The Project
Director will direct and supervise senior program staff and short and long term
technical assistance for the project.
Qualification
and Experience
The desired
candidate must possess at least 10 years of demonstrated experience in
designing and implementing OVC activities.
Candidate
must possess demonstrated strong technical and programmatic knowledge and
experience in key program areas of training, advocacy and resource mobilization
etc.
S/he must be familiar with International donor
funded programs.
The PO must
demonstrate leadership capacity through previous experiences in project management
as well as demonstrate capabilities in management, high level strategic
visioning, and be familiar with the political, social, economic and cultural
context of Nigerian environment.
A PhD in
Health related field will be an added advantage.
2. FINANCE
AND ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR
(100
percent of time) Ibadan
The Finance
and Administrative Director are responsible for overseeing project finances and
other operational and administrative duties.
The incumbent will supervise all grant
management and reporting on grant performance as well as provide financial and
technical management to ensure best use of resources by preparing sound
budgets, monitoring project expenses, and ensuring timely preparation of donor
financial reports.
Qualification
and Experience
A degree in
Accounting and advanced degree in social sciences, public administration or a
related field is a must.
S/he must have at least 10 progressive years
of experience as a Senior Finance and Operations Manager, conversant with
Financial Management, Financial Analysis and reporting preferably in a
reputable NGO or donor agency.
The Finance
and Administrative Director must have thorough knowledge and understanding of
professional accounting principles, theories, practices, and terminology.
Additionally,
s/he must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and
have a high proficiency in the use of computer, particularly in Microsoft
Excel, Microsoft Word etc" and the ability to use various commercially available
accounting software programs e.g Tally 9 Accounting software
. Relevant
professional qualification will be an added advantage.
3.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION DIRECTOR (MED)
(100
percent of time) Ibadan
The
incumbent is responsible for all monitoring, evaluation and reporting
activities under the award.
The MED
will work in collaboration with MEASURE Evaluation and national and local
M&E systems to develop and manage the Project's Performance Monitoring Plan
(PMP),
S/he will
develop and maintain systems to collect and analyze information on inputs,
outputs, outcomes and impact of the program.
The MED
will conduct supportive supervisory visits to States/LGAs and sub-grantees to
observe, monitor, provide guidance and quality feedback on the use of data and
indicators, analyze monthly data and support training of M&E personnel in
quality assurance methods.
Qualification
and Experience
S/he must
have at least 10 years work experience as a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation,
manager in an International or donor organization providing leadership and
technical direction to monitoring and evaluation activities.
The candidate must have advanced degree in
social sciences, demography, statistics and or a related field.
